How do I know if this test is right for me?
If your skin keeps flaring and your gut feels bloated, gassy, just “not right,” or you're constipated/have diarrhea, this is usually your sign. Especially if you’ve already tried cutting foods, adding probiotics, or buying random supplements, and nothing really changed. This is for the person who’s done guessing and wants real answers.
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, this one’s not for you right now since some recommendations aren’t suitable during that season.
Recommended for anyone of the age of 2.
What if I'm taking medications?
Great question. To get accurate GI Map results, there are a few things that need a short break before testing.
You’ll need to avoid antibiotics, antifungals, antiparasitics, probiotics, and digestive enzymes for 2 to 4 weeks before your sample. For 48 hours before collection, avoid aspirin, laxatives, and antacids.
Never stop prescription medication without speaking to your doctor first. If you’re currently taking any of these and aren’t sure what to do, email us at support@katiestewartwellness.com and we’ll help you figure out the right timing.
How is this different from regular blood work?
Most standard blood work doesn’t look deep into the gut microbiome. And many conventional stool tests are designed to rule out major infections or disease, not to map out the full picture of your bacteria, parasites, inflammation markers, gut lining health, and estrogen metabolism.
The GI Map looks at specific strains of bacteria and key gut markers in much more detail. It helps us see patterns that basic testing often misses so we can build a more targeted plan.
I’ve done functional testing before. Why would this be different?
Two big differences.
First, this is reviewed through an acne lens. Your results aren’t just analyzed for “gut health” in general. They’re interpreted by a practitioner trained to connect gut patterns to skin inflammation.
Second, you’re not left with a lab and no direction. You get a clear 8–12 week plan with step-by-step priorities, so you know exactly what to focus on first.
Who does my consult?
Your results are reviewed and interpreted by a qualified practitioner.
One of our KSW nutritionists who's been trained directly by Katie and has been on the team for years. Every single one of our qualified practitioners knows our method inside and out and specializes in acne-focused nutrition.
How does the process work and when do the results come in?
After purchase, you’ll get an email to set up your account in our client portal. Fill out the intake forms. Once everything’s submitted, we’ll send your testing instructions, ship your test kit, and provide your consult booking link (within 24 business hours).
You’ll book your consult for about 4 weeks after you ship your sample. Labs usually take 2 to 3 weeks once they receive it. If timing needs adjusting, we’ll easily move your appointment.
Will I just get my results or an actual plan?
You’ll get a real plan. Fully tailored to your labs, symptoms, and goals so you know exactly what to focus on.
Is this covered by insurance?
We don’t direct bill. You can submit your receipt to your provider, but coverage depends on your plan.
Do I have to live in North America?
No you don't! If you live in NY, NJ, RI, PR or outside of North America, additional shipping fees may apply (please email support@katiestewartwellness.com) to check for shipping rates.
